Max Sugar - Max Sugar, Art

Max Sugar had classes in drawing and composition with Claire Evangelista at Tulane University and at the New Orleans Academy of Fine Arts with Jean Cassells, and Auskelis Ozols.  He also had classes in oil painting at the New Orleans Academy of Fine Arts with Adrian Deckbar, Phil Sandusky, and Daniel Breaux.

His focus shifted when he became aware of the Henry Hensche approach to impressionism painting, which follows in the footsteps of Claude Monet’s impressionism.  This led him to attend workshops and classes to learn impressionism painting with instructors who had studied with Hensche - Rob Longley at the Cape Cod School of Art in Provincetown, MA, Professor Sammy Britt at Studio One in Gray, LA, Chuck Ceraso in Boulder, CO, Diane Trevino in Harahan, LA,  Susan Sarback in Fair Oaks, CA, Hilda Neely of Provincetown, MA, and John Ebersberger in Annapolis, MD.  Henry Hensche (1900-1990) emphasized color, a particular light key, and the full spectrum of color.

This is the path on which Max Sugar has been traveling for some years now, and hopefully, the results are pleasing to you.  Some of his paintings hang in Colorado, California, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Jerusalem, and Toronto.
